Kia Global Sales Touch 261 Thousand Units In July 2024, Sportage Is Still Selling

JAKARTA - The automotive manufacturer from South Korea, Kia reported that its total global sales in July 2024 amounted to 261,334 units or an increase of 0.2 percent compared to the previous year in the same period.

According to the brand's official website, Monday, August 5, sales for the first seven months amounted to 1,816,699 units, a decrease of 1.1 percent.

Meanwhile, the South Korean market accounted for 46,010 units last July or decreased by 3 percent and in the January to July period there were 321,250 units, a decrease of up to 5.4 percent from the previous one.

For overseas markets, sales in July this year reached 214,724 units, an increase of 0.9 percent with seven months of acquisition reaching 1,492,794 units, down 0.1 percent.

The Sportage model is still the prima donna for Kia customers around the world and sold 47,471 units last month, followed by Seltos with 27,171 units and Sorento with 23,710 units.

The United States (US) market is still one of the largest markets for Kia by contributing to sales of 63,580 units and the January to July period of 450,040 units.

"We anticipate changes in market trends and we proactively respond by increasing the series of sustainable electric models including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric models," said Vice President, Sales Operation Kia America Eric Watson.

Just like globally, Kia Sportage is also the best-selling one in Uncle Sam's country with a total of 12,628 units, followed by Forte with 10,448 units, and Telluride completes the top three with 9,082 units.

Then, Sorento occupies the fourth position as the country's best-selling product with 7,206 units and Seltos with 5,481 units last July.

For pure electric vehicle (EV) products, EV9 became the best-selling with 1,815 units followed by EV6 with 1,547 units last month.
