PeKANBARU - The student who drove the Toyota Raize and hit a motorcycle rider's mother to death on Jalan Beli Tambusai, Pekanbaru, on Saturday turned out to be a student at a university in Pekanbaru. He was driving his car at high speed affected by drugs and alcohol after going home karaoke with two of his friends.

Pekanbaru Police Chief Kombes Jeki Rahmat Mustika revealed that the urine test results of the suspect Marisa Putri (21) showed positive amphetamine and methamphetamine after consuming ecstasy and alcohol.

"That night he was invited by his friend with the initials O and T for karaoke at Sago KTV. Arriving there, he was offered half an inex (excitation) drug by T. The three of them were on KTV until 05.00 WIB. While there he consumed alcohol and inex type drugs," said Jeki Rahmat Mustika, Sunday, August 4.

At around 05.00 WIB, the suspect returned home using his blue Toyota Raize at high speed. Arriving at the scene, Marisa did not realize that she had hit a motorcycle rider named Renti Marningsih (46). He only found out after being reminded by an online motorcycle taxi driver.

"He hit Yamaha Vega's motorbike from behind, then the victim was dragged 50 meters away. Because under the influence of drugs, he continued his journey without realizing he had hit the victim. After being told by the Gojek driver, Marisa returned to the location," he explained.

The victim died instantly at the scene of the incident because he suffered serious head injuries. Marisa is currently being held at the Pekanbaru Police Station.
