Anies revealed the criteria for vice gubernatorial candidate (Cawagub) in the Jakarta Election: Have a Vision to Fix Public Transport

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor candidate Anies Baswedan has revealed the criteria for his deputy governor companion to advance in the 2024 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election.

According to Anies, his vice gubernatorial candidate (cawagub) partner must have the same vision. Primarily, he has a perspective on improving the affordability of public transport in Jakarta.

"When we build, we want Jakarta to be better. Then public transport is encouraged, improved. That is the paradigm. The vision is public transportation," said Anies when met at the Sudirman-Thamrin CFD area, Central Jakarta, Sunday, 4 August.

By increasing access to public transport, continued Anies, more people will switch from using private vehicles.

As a result, Jakarta can be free from air pollution due to motorized vehicle pollution, which has recently been in the spotlight. He believes the level of traffic congestion can also be reduced.

"I'm sure if it's like this, of course they have the same vision of managing the city to become a modern city, but in favour of the common people. We must have the same vision," he explained.

Ahead of the regional head candidacy in the 2024 Pilkada, the former Governor of DKI Jakarta for the 2017-2022 period admitted that he was more focused on absorbing the community's aspirations.

One of them is through exercising in the Sudirman-Thamrin CFD area while greeting the public today.

"I met several people who told me about the difficult economic conditions. They have graduated but it is difficult to find a job, they have had a long internship but it has not turned into a job," explained Anies.

Anies also submitted the constellation of nominations for governor and deputy governor in Jakarta to political parties. Anies claims to be more focused on paying attention to citizens.

"Let the political process run, but my focus does not want to shift. My focus is on the citizens of Jakarta," he added.
