France Investigate Death Threats Director Of Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony In The Aftermath Of Parodi Last

JAKARTA - French authorities are conducting an investigation into the threat of cyber murder and harassment targeting artistic director of the opening ceremony of the 2024 Thomas Jolly.

Reported by Reuters, Jolly made a report to the authorities after receiving threats and attacks online for appearances deemed to be parody of Leonardo's masterpiece in the words "The Last Supply" aka Last.

The appearance sparked outrage among the Catholic Church, far-right politicians in France and far-right groups in the United States, featuring transgender models and singers posing as Greek wine god Dionysus.

The organizers of Paris 2024 then apologized by saying they had no intention of showing disrespect for any religious group. Jolly also said that the religious subversion was not his intention and the scene should have described theLA party associated with the god Olympus.

French DJ and producer Barbara Butch, who appeared in the scene, said she had reported people who had abused and threatened her.
