PKS Officially Promotes Bobby Nasution In The North Sumatra Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - The Prosperous Justice Party officially carries the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution to run as a candidate for governor in the 2024 North Sumatra Regional Head Election.

Spokesperson for the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Ahmad Mabruri confirmed this.

PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu directly gave the recommendation letter to President Joko Widodo's son-in-law.

"Earlier, the event was around 17.00 WIB at the PKS Central Executive Board office," said Mabruri when confirming the news as reported by ANTARA, Friday, August 2.

The recommendation letter was issued behind closed PKS at its head office in South Jakarta. During the activity, Bobby Nasution was received by a number of PKS DPP administrators, including Ahmad Syaikhu.

Meanwhile, Bobby Nasution announced the recommendations in his official Instagram account. He expressed his gratitude for the provision of the recommendation letter and added more support to himself.

"I will fight for this responsibility and trust as well as possible, in order to advance North Sumatra Province and prosper its people," Bobby said in a photo caption on his Instagram account.

Previously, on Monday, July 8, PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu had stated that he supported Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution to run as a candidate for governor in the 2024 North Sumatra Pilkada.

"Yes, PKS carries him and of course we entrust him," said Ahmad Syaikhu.

However, a few hours later, Ahmad Syaikhujustru corrected his words because his party had not yet decided to support the name of the candidate for governor for the North Sumatra Pilkada.

Apart from PKS, until now Bobby Nasution has pocketed a number of political parties to advance to the North Sumatra Regional Head Election, namely the Gerindra Party, which is now his party, the Democratic Party, the National Mandate Party, the Golkar Party, the NasDem Party, and the National Awakening Party.
