Autonomous Train Trial At IKN August 5, PUPR: National Asymptomatic Road Ready
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Task Force (Satgas) for the Implementation of Infrastructure Development of the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN) revealed that the Jalan Sumbu Kebangsaan Barat and Timur are ready to be used for the test of the autonomous train or Autonomous Rail Transit (ART).
"It's ready, on August 5 go there," said Head of the Task Force for the Implementation of Infrastructure Development for the Capital Archipelago (IKN) Danis H Sumadilaga at the Main Building of the Ministry of PUPR Jakarta, Friday, July 2, confiscated by Antara.
Danis also said that currently the bus stop for the autonomous train is in the construction process.
The train stop also functions as a place to carry out charging.

For information, the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi ensured that the trial of the autonomous train or ART at IKN, East Kalimantan (Kaltim), could be carried out on August 5, 2024.
The plan is for three series of autonomous trains, in which two series of autonomous trains or Autonomous Rail Transit (ART) will be operated in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan and a series of reserves.
The operation of the autonomous train at the initial stage of IKN will function as a feeder for participants in the Indonesian Independence Day ceremony.
This mode of transportation will operate on Jalan Sumbu Kebangsaan Barat and Jalan Rabu Kebangsaan Timur IKN with a cruising speed of 40 km/hour.
This autonomous train can become one of the smart transportation icons in the IKN area. It is also hoped that autonomous trams can be applied in other cities in Indonesia, such as Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Makassar, to Medan.
An autonomous tram trainset that will operate at IKN has three carriages (cars) with a maximum capacity of 302 passengers. This autonomous trend will operate clockwise, with a headway of about 5 minutes.
The Ministry of PUPR will soon build a bus stop to support the operation of the autonomous tram. The bus stop to be built is not only useful as a place to climb passengers, but will also function as a place to carry out charging.
The autonomous trend or ART is a leap in the use of new technology in the world of transportation in Indonesia, namely railless trains.
Autonomous trends are operated using batteries substitutional with road and magnetic markings, so the vehicle is claimed to be effective in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption.
