Threads Reaches 200 Million Monthly Active Users

JAKARTA In early July, two days before the birthday Threads, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the microblogging platform had reached 175 million monthly active users. Within just a few weeks, the monthly active user Threads has grown to tens of millions. In a Meta earnings report on August 1, Zuckerberg said that the number of active users Threads nearly reached 200 million. This news was finally confirmed by Instagram Chief Adam Mosseri through his Threads account. Mosseri said that the platform under the auspices of Meta had reached a new milestone with 200 million monthly active users. "I am very happy to share that we have passed a 200 million milestone in @threads," Mosseri wrote, quoted on August 2. This announcement shows that Threads was able to attract 25 million users in less than a month.

With the increasing number of active users in Threads, Mosseri wants to make this platform a place to find ideas and unite people. "(Hopefully) this incredible community can continue to grow." If the number of active users in Threads continues to grow, Zuckerberg's target may be achieved in the next few years. The Meta leader is targeting one billion users in Threads. However, the growth in this number of users could run slowly as Threads is still dependent on Instagram. To date, Meta continues to promote Threads on Instagram to attract more users.
