Porsche Releases 911 GT3 Tribute Hospital For Jo Siffert's Racing Legend

JAKARTA Porsche has again stolen the attention of the automotive world by releasing a special movable work of art. In honor of the Swiss racing legend, Jo Siffert, the German sports car manufacturer created 911 GT3 special edition hospitals.

This car is the result of collaboration with the Siffert family, inspired by the 917 race car which brought victory to Jo Siffert and Kurt Ahrens at the Frenchhring in 1969. Jo Siffert himself is known to have died in a fatal accident at the age of 35 in the Formula 1 race at Brands Hatch (England) on October 24, 1971.

The 911 GT3 special edition hospital has a two-color design that combines Pure White and Green Snakes (Viper Green) as the hallmark of this car, as well as various 917 graphics scattered throughout the body.

"This respect model is an inspirational car in two ways: on the one hand, the visual design is based on the design of 917 driven by Jo Siffert and Kurt Ahrens towards victory at themissionsterreichring nearly 55 years ago," said Alexander Fabig, Vice President of Individualization & Classics at Porsche AG in the manufacturing media room, quoted August 2.

In addition to the iconic color scheme, this car is also equipped with the number 29 on the engine hood, doors, and the back wing as a tribute to the Siffert racing number. The black satin magnesium rim with the middle key with a silhouette of 917KH further strengthens the impression of racing. Porsche even teamed up with Bosch and Shell to reproduce sponsor stickers that matched the era.

The interior of the car is no less special than the use of black and red Race-Tex materials and helmet motifs on the back of the head. The car door is decorated with special door plates and Siffert's signature is engraved on the cover of the center console. In fact, the car keys are specially designed with a combination of white and green and graphic 917.

After a brief tour in Switzerland, the car will be sold to lucky owners through a random election process. Porsche hopes this car can be a proper tribute to a racing legend like Jo Siffert, whose name is still remembered by automotive fans around the world.
