Minister Of Communication And Information Urges The Public Not To Pay Illegal Loans

JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi called on the public not to pay illegal loans (pinjol). According to him, be it illegal loans or online gambling is a form of scam.

"So online gambling and illegal online loans, the father is the same, the mother is the same. These brothers. Because every time we play gambling, once we lose, someone offers illegal online loans," Budi said on Thursday, August 1.

Furthermore, Budi also said, "That's why we will call on the entire community, illegal online loans due to gambling don't have to pay. Because they deceive us, deceive the people."

Budi seemed convinced of the call, because according to him, illegal loans and all other illegal businesses are things that violate the applicable rules and regulations. "Including OJK (financial service authorities). Its name is also an illegal loan, the illegal business is a classic business," he concluded.

In an effort to eradicate online gambling in Indonesia, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics has also issued several directives including asking cellular operators to limit the purchase of pulses to a maximum of one million per day.

In addition, Kominfo also said that it would block access to free VPNs used to play online gambling. Budi even admitted that he had blocked the three free VPNs which were indicated to be mostly used for online gambling.
