BI Officially Launches Blueprint Payment System 2030, Highlights Digital Rupiah

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) officially launched the 2025-2030 Blueprint Indonesian Payment System (BSPI).

This is a continuation of the roadmap for the development of Indonesia's payment system from BSPI 2019-2025.

"The launch of the Blueprint Indonesian Payment System 2025-2030 is a continuation of the 2019-2025 BSPI," said Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry Warjiyo during the Opening Ceremony Economic and Digital Finance (FEKDI) X Karya Kreatif Indonesia (KKI) 2024.

Perry said that in the last five years the national digital transformation has accelerated rapidly.

Digital economic and financial development through BSPI 2019-2025 has recorded several achievements, including the large number of QRIS users with more than 50 million users, most MSMEs, fast-growing BI-FAST transactions, government social program electronification, and Indonesian Credit Cards that facilitate government financial transactions, as well as regulatory reforms to strengthen the national payment industry.

Therefore, he said, with the development of BSPI, his party will accelerate the digitization of the national payment system in the future which is focused on five main initiatives.

The acceleration of digitalization of national payments in the future is focused on five main initiatives, namely modernization of retail, wholesale and data payment infrastructure, consolidation of the national payment industry, innovation and acceptance of digital, expansion of international cooperation, and development of digital rupiah.

In addition, Perry also invited all elements of government, authority, associations and industry, as well as the community to continue to strengthen the synergy of national digital transformation in advancing the national digital financial economy.

On the other hand, Perry explained, in the expansion of the QR Indonesian Standard (QRIS) cooperation, it has been realized in various countries, namely Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore, South Korea United Arab Emirates, Japan, and India.

"In the future, Asia will be integrated through payments through QR and also through fast payments," he said.

Perry added that his party will also launch the development of Indonesia's credit card for the government segment with an online payment feature and later, KKI can use QRIS in the payment process.

"The QR Indonesian Standard feature in Indonesia's credit cards will be expanded to facilitate government spending transactions not only for travel but also for buying MSME products," he said.
