President Jokowi Reminds BI-OJK To Have Reserve Data To Make Transactions Safe
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) reminded Bank Indonesia and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to have layered backup data so that people as users can feel safe making transactions."Don't let it happen because we are not ready, we don't have a layered back up data. I ask for a layered back up data. So that users, the people all feel safe in transactions," said President Jokowi after attending the Inauguration of the Opening of the Indonesian Digital Financial Economy Festival and Indonesian Creative Works (FEKDI x KKI) 2024 at JCC Senayan Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, August 1.The President emphasized the importance of data security in the midst of rapid technological developments. He warned that BI and OJK should not have layered data because there was no readiness.The President also mentioned the incident of hacking the Temporary National Data Center (PDNS) server which made the experience better to secure data."It's important. I think our security yesterday should really be used as a good and useful experience in the future," said the President.In addition to data security issues, the President also requested that BI and OJK can increase protection in the digital economy sector, given the number of MSMEs in Indonesia which reached 64 million businesses.In addition, low financial literacy makes people as consumers vulnerable to the risk of fraud and digital crime.
"So prepare a consumer protection system, ensure the security of consumer data. Do not let the small people become the injured parties," said the President.
