BTN Boss Calls The Consideration Of The Young Generation Not Thinking Of Having An Unvalid House

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk or BTN, Nixon LP Napitupulu said, the assumption that the younger generation did not think of buying a house was invalid.

Because, he continued, based on BTN KPR data, it was dominated by the millennial generation.

Nixon said, out of a total of 4,324 debtors who carried out the BTN KPR mass contracts simultaneously throughout Indonesia today, 72 percent of the younger generation.

Meanwhile, 30 percent of those who carry out the contract are women.

"Interestingly, if we look at today, the longer the house contract is young. So this is good news, it means that the fameo that the younger generation does not think of having a house is actually not very valid," he said during a speech at the KPR Mass Akad and KUR BTN, in Cileungsi, West Java, Wednesday, July 31.

In fact, continued Nixon, it was recorded that the debtor who carried out the BTN KPR mass contract today was the youngest at the age of 23.

"Because if we do a mass contract, there are already many who (do) at the age of 21 to 23," continued Nixon.

Furthermore, Nixon said, Bank BTN is indeed concerned about the fulfillment of houses for millennials and women.

Even the realization of subsidized mortgages until June 2024 since the beginning was dominated by millennials by approximately 89 percent who carried out the contract.

"Especially for 2020 to 2023, millennials absorb 425,070 subsidized mortgage units or Rp. 62 trillion. Until June 2024, the figure has increased to 465,621 units or Rp. 68.5 trillion," he said.

If assumed by the end of 2024, the realization of subsidized mortgages for the millennial generation will reach around Rp. 78 trillion.

Meanwhile, continued Nixon, mortgages for women, the composition of female mortgages in BTN has reached 32.5 percent with the realization of distribution from 2020 to 2024 as many as 173,476 units or around Rp. 25 trillion.

"So millennials and female mortgages are very large in absorbing housing financing in BTN," he said.
