Hamas Leader Dies, Fadli Zon Hopes The Struggle For Palestine's Independence Continues

JAKARTA - The chairman of the House of Representatives' Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP), Fadli Zon, also expressed his condolences for the death of the leader of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, in an attack on Tehran, Iran. Even though Haniyeh has passed away, Fadli hopes that the Palestinian independence struggle will continue. "Innalillahi wainnailaihi rojiun. My deepest condolences are the martyr, the leader of the Palestinian resistance fighter, Allahyarham Ismail Haniyah," Fadli said in his official X account, Wednesday, July 31.

"There is no struggle without sacrifice. Goodbye Ismail Haniyah. God willing, Palestine is free!" he continued. In his post, Fadli also uploaded several photos with Haniyeh holding a keris. The Gerindra deputy said the photo was taken during the delivery of the keris on the sidelines of the Palestinian Conference in Istanbul, Turkey on December 3, 2021.

Remembering Haniyeh, Fadli also uploaded another photo. The photo was his last meeting with Haniyeh in Doha, Qatar, July 1, 2024. Fadli said the meeting discussed Parliament's support for Free Palestine. "And humanitarian assistance for victims and Gaza refugees," wrote Fadli Zon.
