IPhone 16 Pro Will Support Wi-Fi 7 For Faster Speeds And More Reliable Connectivity

JAKARTA - According to the publication of Taiwan's supply chain, DigiTimes, the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models are "widely expected" to support Wi-Fi 7.

With Wi-Fi 7 support, this device can simultaneously send and receive data through 2,4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands, resulting in faster Wi-Fi velocities, lower latency, and more reliable connectivity. Wi-Fi 7 is expected to offer a top theoretical data transfer rate of more than 40 Gbps, a four-fold increase over Wi-Fi 6E.

Wi-Fi 7 support for the previous iPhone 16 Pro model has been rumored by supply chain analyst Jeff Pu. The device is expected to be released in September.

The previous iPhone 15 Pro model supports Wi-Fi 6E, while all iPhone 11 to iPhone 14 models support Wi-Fi 6 standards.

The main advantages of Wi-Fi 7 include a much higher rate of data transfer, which allows users to download and upload large files very quickly.

With lower latency, Wi-Fi 7 is ideal for real-time apps such as online gaming, video calls, and live streaming, reducing the time lag felt.

The simultaneous use of three frequency bands (2,4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz) allows for more stable connectivity and reduces signal interference, thus ensuring more reliable connections in areas with multiple connected devices.

In addition, Wi-Fi 7 is designed to be more efficient in power usage, which can help extend device battery life. This technology also supports more connected devices at once without lowering the quality of the connection, suitable for smart homes and work environments that require multiple connected devices
