Samsung Trying To Fix Battery Draining Problems On Galaxy Watch 7

JAKARTA - Several Galaxy Watch 7 users reported major problems with the device's battery life, where many of them experienced severe battery draining at night.

Users in the Samsung (Korean) and Reddit community forums have complained about the problem of severe battery draining on the Galaxy Watch 7. Some users report a power loss of 10% per hour despite the power-saving feature being activated, while others are forced to charge the device several times a day.

Samsung has confirmed that they have found the problem and will soon release the fix. However, it is not clear whether the fix is included in the device update released on July 30.

This problem was first discussed in the Samsung (Korean) community forum, where a user reported that after following standard setup procedures, their Watch 7 battery drains at a level of about 10% per hour. The user also said that although the power-saving feature is enabled, this problem still exists.

The user mentioned that after charging it fully and wearing it while sleeping, the device battery was only 30% to 40% remaining.

Similar problems were also reported by users on Reddit. One user said that the device was only 8% left after nearly 12 hours of full charging despite using only health features. Other users reported losing about 20% of the battery while sleeping and were forced to charge Watch 7 "2 to 3 times a day."

A user with this problem contacted Samsung's support in South Korea and was told that a software update might be needed. A company development manager also confirmed that Samsung was aware of the problem of draining this battery and had found a solution.

They stated, "We have identified the cause of the battery draining problem and have found a solution. We will immediately distribute the software update that fixes this problem."

It's unclear whether this update started rolling out today, but the publication sees that the first update has arrived for the Galaxy Watch 7 and 7 Ultra. The version L310XU1AXG2 (173.5MB) was released to the owner of Watch 7 while the version L705FXU1AXFB (330MB) was aimed at Ultra. Samsung's official change record does not specifically mention the battery draining problem.

However, this update is likely worth installing given the "improvement of stability" and increased performance mentioned.

The Galaxy Watch 7 was introduced on July 10 at Unpacked events and appears to offer convenience in improving user experience. With new BioActive health tracking and sensor features, Watch 7 is designed to improve your health monitoring, including detection of sleep apnea and more in-depth health analysis.
