J.Lo Celebrates 'Selena', A Film That She Played: A Small Piece Of Extraordinary Legacy

JAKARTA - Singer Jennifer Lopez celebrates 24 years of the release of the film Selena from Warner Bros. This biopic tells the career journey of singer Selena-Quintanilla Perez.

Through her Instagram, Lopez celebrates her phenomenal role in the film. “I am proud of this film!!! Proud to be a small part of Selena's extraordinary legacy", said Lopez in the video caption.

Furthermore, she explained that she studied each step, the movement of the finger, the movement of the lips, her expression. She also recounted when actor Edward James Olmos, who played Selena's father, said to her, "You've done your job, now just let go...".

Selena is one of the most influential Latin singers of all time. She died on March 31, 1995, 16 days before her 24th birthday by her friend, Yolanda Saldivar. President George W. Bush named Selena's Day on April 16 in Texas for her achievements and influence in music.

Two years after she passed away, Jennifer Lopez was appointed to be the main character in the film Selena. The film made USD 35 million during playing.
