Reflecting On Jakarta, Jokowi Ordered The Acting Governor Of East Kalimantan To Succeed The 79th Anniversary Of The Republic Of Indonesia At IKN
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) left a message to the Acting Governor (Pj) of East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim) Akmal Malik to make the 79th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony a success in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN).
"The President has left a message that together we will succeed the commemoration ceremony for the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence at IKN," said Akmal Malik after delivering President Jokowi's departure at Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman (SAMS) Sepinggan Airport, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Tuesday, July 30, was confiscated by Antara.
After receiving the message, he stated his readiness to make the Indonesian Independence Day a success nationally, which was the first time outside Jakarta to President Jokowi.
"And I convey to the President that East Kalimantan is ready," said Akmal Malik.
It is known that President Jokowi arrived in East Kalimantan on Sunday, July 28, 2024 and was directly based at IKN, Monday, July 29 to Tuesday, July 30.
In addition to listening to the report of the Minister of PUPR who is also the Acting Head of the IKN Authority Basuki Hadimoeljono regarding the progress of the construction of the new capital city, President Joko Widodo also received a number of ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, including the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi and the Deputy Minister of ATR/BPN Raja Juli Antoni.

The President also had time to check the readiness of the plan to hold the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence at IKN.
Previously, President Jokowi also reminded that community participation should be increased in the IKN development process. The President does not want local people to be marginalized by the presence of IKN.
Before returning to Jakarta, President Jokowi also invited the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) and the East Kalimantan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin). Jokowi asked local entrepreneurs not to hesitate to invest in IKN and its surroundings.
