After MUI, Kominfo Collaborates With PP Catholic Youth To Eradicate Online Gambling

JAKARTA - In addition to collaborating with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology also collaborates with the Central Executive of Catholic Youth in eradicating online gambling in the country.

In his meeting with the Minister of Communications and Informatics Budi Arie Setiadi on Monday, July 29, the General Chairperson of the PP Pemuda Catholic Stefanus Asat Gusma appreciated the performance of Kominfo in eradicating online gambling.

Therefore, the Chairman of the PP Pemuda Catholic expressed his readiness to cooperate comprehensively in eradicating online gambling in Indonesia.

"Catholic youth will make various preventive efforts, such as socialization and education to the public, especially the younger generation, regarding the negative impact of online gambling," Stefanus said as quoted from the official Kominfo broadcast.

Stefanus also emphasized that they would be at the forefront of efforts to prevent and take action against online gambling practices. In fact, he emphasized the willingness to cooperate with the government.

The Minister of Communication and Information welcomed the initiative. According to Budi, the active role of youth organizations is very important in efforts to overcome the increasingly complex online gambling problems.

Online gambling is the biggest fraud against society, where people are deceived. Many have become victims, trapped in debt and made online loans," he explained.

He continued, "As a result of online gambling, the family's economy is destroyed, the community's economy is destroyed, the country's economy is destroyed. So there is no choice but that we must eradicate online gambling from upstream to downstream."

Budi also emphasized the importance of the involvement of youth organizations which are considered to further strengthen the government's efforts to eradicate the rise of online gambling in Indonesia.
