Sohibul Iman Has Not Yet Boosted Anies' Electability, PKS Calls Changes Occurring If Grass Roots Move
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Political Indicators survey institute said that the Deputy Chairperson of the PKS Syuro Council, Sohibul Iman, had not added support to Anies Baswedan if the pair ran for the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election.
Chairman of the DKI Jakarta PKS Regional Leadership Council (DPW) Khoirudin admitted that this was not wrong. However, this condition occurs because grassroots have not moved massively to socialize Sohibul.
So, if the PKS network starts working to campaign for Sohibul Iman as a candidate for deputy governor (cawagub) accompanying Anies, Khoirudin is optimistic that his electability will be boosted.
"We have a PKS machine, one of which is a variable gaspol machine, works optimally. That's a cadre. So, the factor has not been measured to be surveyed. I am sure that when a cadre becomes a cawagub, it will have a big impact. to mobilize all cadres throughout DKI Jakarta," said Khoirudin at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Monday, July 29.
The deputy chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD said that PKS is still waiting for the willingness of a number of parties that will carry Anies in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada to pair the former Governor of DKI Jakarta with Sohibul.
If later Sohibul officially side by side with Anies and the two of them have registered as candidate pairs at the General Elections Commission (KPU), the PKS grassroots will automatically move to win them.
"The PKS network that has won in Jakarta, that's what we use. So from the grassroots. After registration, we will move," explained Khoirudin.
Currently, PKS firmly wants to pair Sohibul Iman with Anies in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. However, Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi said Sohibul did not contribute to boosting Anies' electability, when viewed from the results of the figure electability survey in the Jakarta governor-deputy candidate exchange.

Indicators conducted a survey simulation of three pairs of candidates, where Anies was paired with Sohibul Iman against Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok)-Ida Fauziyah, and Ridwan Kamil-Sandiaga Uno.
As a result, Anies-Sohibul received 43.1 percent support, Ahok-Ida Fauziyah 32.5 percent, and Ridwan Kamil-Sandiaga 18.5 percent.
This percentage did not change or raise Anies' voice when compared to the simulation of 3 candidates without deputy governors. Where, Anies got 43.8 percent, Ahok 32.1 percent, and Ridwan Kamil 18.9 percent.
"Anies Baswedan-Sohibul Iman, PKS can talk about Sohibul Iman's greatness. But what do you want to say? It turns out that this survey is not enough to provide empirical evidence that Sohibul Iman can add to Mas Anies' electoral," said Burhanuddin in a virtual survey presentation, Thursday, July 25.
Burhanuddin assessed that this condition could occur because the majority of Anies and PKS voters were on the same basis.
In addition, the electoral constellation of candidates in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada also seems to have narrowed to three names, namely Anies, Ahok, and Ridwan Kamil. Thus, other names have not provided enough changes in electability.
"Because Sohibul Imam's base from PKS and Mas Anies overlapped, so there wasn't enough contribution," said Burhanuddin.
