Rampok Bersajam Claims To Be Police, Arrested After Student-Owned Motorcycle Thief In Cipayung, East Jakarta

JAKARTA - A robber who claimed to be a member of the police was arrested by the Cipayung Police. The perpetrator is known to have the initials Y, from Ngada Regency, NTT.

In the action, Y launched a robbery mode of motorcycle robbery on the edge of Jalan Raya Hankam Headquarters, RT 07/03, Bambu Apus Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cipayung Police, AKP Hotman, said the incident began when the victim, a student with the initials MIF (18), a resident of Cipayung, was riding a motorbike.

Suddenly the victim's motorbike was blocked by two unknown men. The two perpetrators said that the motorbike used by the victim was problematic.

"The perpetrator claimed to be a member of the police," said AKP Hotman to VOI, Sunday, July 28.

However, because the victim did not believe it, the perpetrator with the initials Y also threatened to use a sharp knife to the victim.

"The perpetrator asked for the identity of the victim's ID card, then was ordered to come to the police station by way the victim was riding the victim's motorbike," he said.

Then in the middle of the road, the perpetrator dropped the victim's ID card and the perpetrator asked the victim to take the ID card.

"Because the victim was scared, the victim took his ID card. But the two perpetrators fled leaving the victim," he said.

Seeing the two perpetrators taking his motorbike away, the victim screamed. Residents and members of the Cipayung Police Criminal Investigation Unit then gave chase and arrested one perpetrator with the initials Y.

"The victim has made a report to the Cipayung Police for further investigation. Suspect Y was charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code regarding theft with violence," he said.
