DLH DKI Jakarta Will Build Garbage Island In The Thousand Islands In 2027

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Environment Agency built a waste island in the Thousand Islands in 2027 as an effort to manage waste and land constraint solutions. "If we talk about the garbage island, don't imagine that the island was built from a pile of garbage or used as a TPA in Bantargebang, that's not," said the Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency (DLH), Asep Kuswanto in the East Flood Canal, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday 27 July. This idea came from the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono to add a waste treatment room with an area of about 200 to 300 hectares (ha). He said that the area in Jakarta is fairly narrow and difficult to get a location so it needs a large enough area to build a waste disposal site. "We hope that in 2027 we can start building a regional space that we really specialize in for development because of waste processing facilities and waste," he said.
