Impression Of Short Driving GWM Haval Jolion AV: Comfort Of Hybrid Technology
TANGERANG - Great Wall Motor (GWM) Indonesia officially launched Haval Jolion HEV at the GIIAS 2024 event. This model also strengthens the commitment of this brand in presenting low-emission and innovative vehicles in the country.
Not only carrying advanced technology with a stylish design, this model marks the milestone of the manufacturer's achievement by becoming the first to be produced locally through Inchcape's assembly line in Wanaherang, West Java.
Produced by CKD, of course the thing that becomes curious is how the driving taste of this H6 HEV brother is. The VOI team had the opportunity to try out this vehicle in the GIIAS 2024 event, what do you think? Here's the short review.
More Stylish Design
This car has a similar design to H6 HEV. The difference is that the SUV dimension is more compact but still spacious with a length of 4,472 mm, a width of 1,841 mm, and a height of 1,626 mm.
Its sporty and futuristic exteriors with T-Shaped Dagger AJk LED headlamp, Boomerang LED tail light, and Star Matrix grille, reflect a modern lifestyle.
Modern Interior
The cabin has a semi-premium impression but remains comfortable to occupy. This car is equipped with some fine and comfortable materials even though some parts are equipped with hard plastic.
The driving position is also quite ergonomic for drivers under 170 cm in size. What's more, the manufacturer designed its interior with a lower head-up display so that the driver's view was not blocked in front.
The steering wheel is comfortable enough to hold and the dashboard is equipped with 10.25 inches of touchscreen which is intuitive in presenting various information regarding personalization arrangements in the interior.

Comfortable Suspension
One of the things that is prioritized in SUV-type cars is the comfortable suspension. GWM managed to design this car with an easy suspension when it passed through the mound area or sleeping police.
When passing various obstacles such as inclines, the suspension works well so that both drivers and passengers still feel comfortable.
Meanwhile, the steering wheel is also quite comfortable and not too light so that the driver can easily feel the feeling of driving very well when turning or maneuvering.
Driving Performance
This car is equipped with an L.E.M.O.N DHT 1.5L engine combined with a double motorcycle transmission which is claimed to have up to 48 percent fuel efficient capability compared to pure ICE vehicles.
Just like hybrid cars in general, Haval Jolion HEV can automatically run in EV mode at low speeds in the range of 20-40 km/hour. But when it touched above 40 km/hour, the SUV returned to ICE mode.
This is evidenced when walking at low speed, the car goes quietly without any engine sound at all. But when the gas pedal is stepped on instantly, the sound of the ICE engine immediately flares up and provides maximum responsiveness.
Conclusion
Unlike other Chinese manufacturers who directly offered EVs, GWM took a different approach by launching several hybrid models in Indonesia and one of them was Haval Jolion HEV.
Moreover, this car is assembled by CKD so that the price of the car has a competitive price in the Indonesian market worth IDR 448.8 million On The Road DKI Jakarta.
This car can be taken into consideration for consumers who want to have a compact SUV with hybrid technology in it. In Indonesia, this model becomes a direct competitor from the Toyota Yaris Cross HEV.
