KPK Finds Money While Searching For Alleged Corruption At Semarang City Government

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) found a number of evidences related to allegations of corruption in the City Government (Pemkot) of Semarang, Central Java. Among them are procurement documents in a number of offices to money.

"Yes, the 2023 to 2024 APBD documents along with changes, procurement documents for each service, both procurement and direct appointment, documents containing hand records, some money," said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, July 26.

Tessa has not detailed the findings of the money. The calculation process, he said, is still ongoing.

This search activity was mentioned by Tessa for two weeks, namely until this week. The witness examination will then be carried out.

"Most likely the inspection activities will be carried out next week," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK announced the start of the investigation of three alleged corruption crimes within the Semarang City Government (Pemkot). The details are the procurement of goods and services within the Semarang City Government in 2023-2024, the alleged extortion of civil servants related to incentives for collecting taxes and levies in the Semarang City area, as well as the alleged receipt of gratuities in 2023-2024.

There have been four people who have been prevented from leaving the country for the first six months. The details are two state administrators while the rest are private ones. Based on information circulating, four people were prevented were Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu who was the Mayor of Semarang with her husband, Arwin Basri; Chairman of the Association of Indonesian National Construction Implementers (Gapensi) Semarang City, Martono; and Rahmat Djangkar who is a private party.

In this case, the anti-corruption commission has named four suspects. The notification letter for the start of the investigation (SPDP) has been sent and is said to have been received by them even though it has not been submitted.
