The Laying Of The First Rock Of Train Infrastructure In Bali Scheduled For September

DENPASAR - Bali Provincial Government (Pemprov) through its extension of PT Sarana Bali Dwipa Jaya (SBDJ) said that the laying of the first stone for the construction of a train-based mass public transportation infrastructure will be carried out in September 2024.

"According to the plan set, the groundbreaking will be carried out in September 2024, including the construction of four phases," said PT SBDJ President Director Ari Askhara in Denpasar, Wednesday, July 24.

Later, the marker of the start of the subway development project on the Island of the Gods will be carried out at the Kuta Central Parking which will then be used as the management office.

The zones that will be built in the first phase include I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to Kuta Central Parking, then Seminyak, Berawa, then Cemagi.

For the second phase from I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to Jimbaran Udayana University and Nusa Dua.

"It is hoped that the airport phase to Kuta and the airport to Jimbaran Udayana can be completed in early 2028," he said.

These two phases started simultaneously and firstly because the limestone soil contours in the area facilitated the work process, so that when it was completed it could be used as a guarantor to the community.

The former President Director of Garuda Indonesia said that the third phase of train development in Bali will connect Kuta Parking Central with Denpasar, namely Setan, Renon, and Sanur.

Then finally phase four connects Renon with Gianyar, namely Sukawati and Ubud, but for the third and fourth phases it is predicted that it will only be completed in 2031.

In building this infrastructure, the Bali Provincial Government is assisted by the main investor PT Bumi Indah Prima with a total investment value of 20 billion US dollars or around Rp. 325 trillion.

The funds will later be used to build overall train infrastructure but are not limited to one investor, because the scheme implemented still opens up opportunities for other investors to join under key investors.

The construction, which began at the end of this year, includes tunnels, subway tracks, supporting facilities infrastructure such as telecommunications, electricity, water, waste and waste management, as well as the construction of transit-oriented development.

Meanwhile, their telecommunications infrastructure will pull underwater fiber optic cables from Singapore for more than 3,000 kilometers to ensure network independence and security.

Regarding the construction of transit-oriented development, they will design each station to focus on the advantages of each region.

"So that it will become an attractive tourist attraction such as Kuta focusing on commercial centers, Seminyak focusing on entertainment centers, Canggu and Berawa focusing on fitness centers, and Cemagi focusing on natural activities," he said, quoted by ANTARA.

PT SBDJ ensures that this project is built carefully without destroying the concept of Hindu Bali Tri Hita Karana, even in the future local communities will be equipped with knowledge so that the fillers in this mode of transportation are local sons and daughters.
