PAN Regarding The Pilkada Coalition: KIM Can't Unite, We Understand Each Other
JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of PAN Viva Yoga megaku political parties who are members of the Forward Indonesia Coalition (KIM) who carry Prabowo-Gibran in the presidential election are not only in line to continue to form a coalition in the 2024 Pilkada.
However, Viva claims PAN, Gerindra, Golkar, Democrats, PSI, and other non-parliamentary parties understand each other that political interests in the presidential and regional elections can be different.
"One thing, the principle is that the national political configuration is different from the regions. Not all of them are the same. For example in some areas, in Banten, Jambi, West Sumatra. That KIM cannot unite. We understand each other," said Yandri when met at the 26th Harlah event of PKB, Jakarta Convention Center, Tuesday, July 23.
For example, in the 2024 Pilkada of Banten Province, the Gerindra Party carried Andra Soni-Achmad Dimyati in the Banten Pilgub along with a number of other political parties. Meanwhile, the Golkar Party firmly wants to arrest former South Tangerang Mayor Airin Rachmi Diany.
However, political parties in KIM continue to work together in regional elections. One of them was in the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election. Although, PAN offered the daughter of PAN General Chair Zulkifli Hasan, Zita Anjani, to become a cawagub.
"PAN already has a ticket, namely cawagub cadre itself, the name is Zita Anjani. Later it will depend on the coalition process, the candidate pair depends on the coalition. This coalition is prioritized by KIM," said Viva.

What is clear, Viva claims that KIM's political party has the same goal in supporting regional head candidates. "The important thing is that we make the regional elections part of the process of transforming the nation in the region so that the transformation of the nation through the presidential election is synergized with the regional elections," he added.
Previously, the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, also admitted that since the 2024 presidential election, KIM has collaborated to seek togetherness in his political steps. However, it is not shown that political dynamics in the regions cannot always be equated with national ones.
"We also realize that it is not as easy as imagined because local politics in the area is not always the same as portraits at the national level," AHY said at the DPP Democrat office, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 10.
When talking about regional elections, according to AHY, political parties have their respective mappings regarding the nomination of their regional heads. This could have been prepared before the formation of the 2024 presidential election coalition.
"There are places that can't be together, yes. That's possible. We'll see today's political reality and until whenever, that's it. So, it's something natural," said AHY.
