Israeli Troops Kill 7 Palestinians Including Two Militants In The West Bank

JAKARTA - Seven Palestinians, including two militant commanders and a woman, were killed in an Israeli attack targeting gunmen in the occupied West Bank.

One of the Israeli attacks took place in the city of Tulkarem, where fighting between Palestinian militants and Israeli soldiers took place on the streets.

Reported by Reuters on Tuesday, July 23, two militants, one of Hamas Islamist groups and one member of Fatah's rival faction, were killed, according to Palestinian sources, as well as a woman, according to the Palestinian health ministry. The identities of the other two dead victims have not been identified.

An Israeli military spokesman said airstrikes hit armed militants operating in the region and gunfire was still ongoing.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said two Palestinians were killed in a separate attack near the city of Hebron. However, their identities were not disclosed.

Violence in the West Bank has escalated even before the Hamas attack on October 7 in southern Israel that sparked war in Gaza. Since then, more than 500 Palestinians, including militants, have been killed in clashes in the West Bank.

Israel captured the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem the region Palestinians wanted to make a country in the 1967 Middle East war and has since built settlements in the West Bank and continues to expand.
