The perpetrator spread the indecent video because he was annoyed and jealous because his underage lover was close to his ex-girlfriend and also close to his classmate at school," Hadi said in Palembang as reported by Antara, Tuesday, July 23.The police managed to secure evidence and the perpetrator carried out immoral content transmission activities in February 2023 by creating a WhatsApp group.Then the suspect entered the victim's friends about eight people, after that the suspect immediately sent a screenshot of an indecent video, where in the photo and video the victim looked ugil.The evidence that was successfully secured was a cellphone used by the suspect to send or expand the video.The suspect charged with the article applied is a criminal threat of Article 27 paragraph 1 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information on electronic transactions imprisonment for a maximum of six years or a maximum fine of Rp. one billion.Deputy Chairman of the South Sumatra Regional Child Protection Commission (KPAD), Edi Hendri, said that his party would provide assistance to underage victims and currently the victim is still in third grade high school."We will psychologically provide assistance and children should celebrate World Children's Day today, we appreciate the police for uncovering this case," he said.
He said that until the July 2024 period, the South Sumatra KPAD had handled the assistance of 11 cases of violence against children.
