More Than Just A Concept: Cadillac Sollei Is Ready To Be Most Stunning On The Streets
JAKARTA - A US car manufacturer, Cadillac, has just introduced a concept car that is guaranteed to make luxury car lovers feel welcome. It is Cadillac Sollei, a large convertible car that looks more like a production model than just a concept.
Sollei is arguably an open-door version of the Cadillac Celestiq luxury sedan which sells for 300,000 US dollars (equivalent to IDR 4.8 billion) which is assembled.
This concept car is estimated to use an Ultium platform-based electric engine with a range of more than 480 kilometers.
"This concept celebrates the Cadillac tree in an elegant Convertible car in modern form by cultivating high luxury through its expression and design experience," said Director of Sesain Cadillac Erin Crossley, in the manufacturer's media space, July 22.
Meanwhile, as reported byctions, July 23, with Sollei, Cadillac as if wanting to reclaim the throne again as the leading luxury car manufacturer. Sollei's own name is a combination of the words "solar" (solar) and "leisure" (free time), describing the experience of leisurely driving in the hot sun.
At first glance, Sollei has a resemblance to the Celestiq, especially from the pillars of the windshield to the front. However, Sollei clearly appeared more bongsor with a length longer than the standard Escalade and a 172 cm door. The elongated engine hood, 23 inches rim, and WEak LED rearlight further confirmed its luxurious aura.
The one that stole the most attention was the color of Sollei. The combination of Manila Cream paint on the exterior with a Solar Yellow color seat creates a cheerful summer impression. This leather jockey even has a metallic layer that will glow when exposed to sunlight.
Sollei's interior is no less luxurious. The door panel was decorated with wood motifs cut by lasers, while aluminum motifs around the cup holder seemed to bring us back to the era of Cadillac glory with the 1937 V16 Dual-Cowl Phaeton and 1959 Convertible Eldorado Birritz.
The screen of the 35-inch curved instrument and a 20-inch passenger screen like those on Escalade and Escalade IQ are also present on Sollei. However, what's more special is the back seat.
Sollei's back ankle is equivalent to Mercedes-Benz S-Class, coupled with hand-made wooden decorations that resemble the cruise ship deck on the back of the front seat. Cadillac uses natural materials throughout the cabin, so the feel of luxury feels so real.
Uniquely, among the back seats there is a special place for biradwatching equipment. Yes, instead of the picnic or hunting gear that is commonly found in luxury cars, Cadillac offers something different: enjoying bird tweets. This concept is equipped with four glassy "silver" that can emit the sound of four types of American singer birds.

Most interestingly, this Sollei concept car looks very ready for mass production. There is no use of camera mirrors or futuristic materials commonly found in concept cars. Sollei shares many components with Celestiq, except for the folding roof, and is believed to use the same Ultium platform. This means that Sollei has the potential to have about 600 dk of power and acceleration of 0-100 km/hour in less than 4 seconds.
If mass-produced, Sollei will be Cadillac's first convertible car since XLR. The competitors are also relatively small and the price will clearly exceed the Celestiq.
With a much larger size than Mercedes-AMG SL, Bentley Continental GT Convertible, or Aston Martin DB12 Volante, as well as a much more luxurious interior, Sollei is in its own class. Maybe its closest competitor is Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Couple, which has not been produced since 2016.
