KPK Investigate The Auction For The Development Of The NTB Tsunami Shelter Which Ended In Corruption
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the auction for the construction of a temporary evacuation site (TES) or tsunami shelter in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) which ended in corruption.The statement was obtained by investigators from Baiq Fatmi (BF) who is the treasurer and Technical Assistant at the PBL Satker of the Directorate General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of PUPR NTB Purwanto Joko Astriyo (PJA)."The two of them were asked about the auction process for the construction of a temporary evacuation site or tsunami shelter in NTB," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters, Monday, July 22.While the other two witnesses were not present to fulfill the investigator's summons, explained Tessa. However, they have confirmed and will be rescheduled.The two witnesses who were not present were the SPM Issuance Officer or SPP Examiner, Jublina Marselina Tawa (JBT) and Ika Sri Rejeki (ISR) who are the Head of the Center for Settlement Facilities of the Directorate General of Human Settlements of NTB.Previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption in the construction of a temporary evacuation site (TES) or tsunami shelter in NTB. There are two people who have been named as suspects, details of one is a state administrator and another comes from a state-owned company.It was stated that this development was carried out by the Building and Environmental Planning Task Force, the Implementation Activities for Building and Environmental Planning (PBL) of West Nusa Tenggara Province, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing in 2014. The investigation into the alleged corruption has been carried out since 2023.The shelter development budget, which ends up being corrupted, comes from the Ministry of PUPR. The alleged mode of development is to reduce the quality of development.
As a result, the shelter or temporary place that was built was damaged. In fact, this building is needed for the community when a tsunami disaster occurs.
