Rinov/Pitha Get A Long Message From Legend Ahead Of The 2024 Olympics

JAKARTA The pair Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari received a long message from the Indonesian mixed doubles legend, Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir, ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic gold medalist is currently in Paris with Rinov/Pitha. Both of them went there because they were given the task of mentoring for mixed doubles numbers.

Liliyana admits that the athlete's saturation point can happen because at any time he always struggles with the same routine. Therefore, he always encourages Rinov/Pitha not to get caught in that kind of thing.

"I always remind them (Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari), this is very close (Olympics. It's only a matter of days. The place is also very close to the arena. Already in the country of the Olympics."

"So, the focus must be tightened, the pattern of strategy is matured, the blow is further solidized," he said.

Currently, the Indonesian badminton team is still undergoing a training camp in Chambly to finalize all strategies. They will only enter the athletes' village on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

Rinov/Pitha will start their struggle from Group A. In this group, they got very tough opponents, including the first seed from China, Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong.

The other two mixed doubles that will be their opponents are the South Korean pair, Kim Won-ho/Jeong Na-eun and the host's representative, Thom Gicquel/Delta Delrue.

Owi said that he was happy to be able to play his role as a mentor at the 2024 Olympics. He also hopes that his assistance can be carried out well by Rinov/Pitha when on the field later.

The 2024 Paris Olympics will open on July 26, 2024. The badminton sport will start competing the next day.

Badminton has nine athletes who qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics. They are also expected to maintain the gold medal tradition.
