Trump Holds First Open Campaign After Assassination Attempts
JAKARTA - Donald Trump will hold his first campaign since he escaped an assassination attempt one week ago. Trump has just completed his nomination convention in the United States (US) presidential election which was inaugurated by the Republican Party.
Trump will attend Grand Rapids in the state of Michigan, along with his new vice president, US Senator from Ohio, JD Vance on Saturday, July 20.
This will be their first joint campaign as an official Republican presidential candidate.
Republican officials said at the Trump nomination convention in Milwaukee Trump's experience of facing death on Saturday, July 13 had changed himself.
When Trump delivered a speech at the Republican Convention on Thursday night, he would call for national unity.
Although Trump started his speech with calls for national unity and recovery, most of his speeches contained complaints and attacks on his opponents.
Trump and Vance will appear at Grand Rapids with Republicans united behind them after this week's nomination convention.
On the other hand, the Democratic Party is in turmoil and there is no certainty that President Joe Biden will become a candidate for the Democratic Party to face Trump in the November 5 elections.
