North Sumatra And East Java Gubernatorial Elections Potentially Opposite Empty Boxes, PDIP: Will Not Happen

The Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP), Hasto Kristiyanto, will not allow the phenomenon to fight empty boxes in the Pilgub of North Sumatra and East Java.

This was conveyed by Hasto in response to Bobby Nasution's opportunity, who is the son-in-law of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) against the empty boxes in the North Sumatra Pilgub and Khofifah Indar Parawansa-Emil Dardak in the East Java gubernatorial election.

"The empty city will not happen," Hasto told reporters at the PDIP DPP Office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Saturday, July 20, 2024.

Hasto said PDIP is preparing cooperation with other political parties to carry the cagub and deputy governor pairs in the East Java gubernatorial election. Meanwhile in North Sumatra, PDIP encourages its own candidates.

Thus, the party bearing the bull symbol will prepare a rival pair in the two provinces.

"Because this also reflects people's aspirations for the alternatives of leaders," he said.

Hasto ensured that he would prepare the best figures as candidates for regional heads. He also said that PDIP will continue to heat up party engines by holding campaign team training for the 2024 Pilkada.

"This means showing the movement of party machines in strategic planning to win the Pilkada based on the strength of the party machine that is integrated with the people. That continues to be done," said the former member of the DPR RI.

For information, Bobby Nasution, who is President Jokowi's son-in-law, will run as a governor candidate in the North Sumatra gubernatorial election. He has pocketed support from a number of parties, including Gerindra, Golkar, PAN, Democrats, NasDem, and PKB.

Meanwhile, Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Emil Dardak will run again in East Java. They have received support from Gerindra, PKS, NasDem, PAN, PPP, PSI, and Democrats.
