Democratic Politicians Make Television Ads Ask Biden To Withdraw From The US Presidential Election
JAKARTA - A group of Democratic Party legislators launched a television ad urging US President Joe Biden to step down from the presidential election.
The ad was launched amid growing calls for him to give way for other more promising candidates to fight Donald Trump.
The ad launched by Pass The Torch, a newly formed super political action committee (PAC), featuring several people speaking in front of the camera and asking Biden to provide space for candidates "who can bring new energy" to the party while thanking Biden for defeating Trump in 2020, according to the report.
"President Biden, you saved democracy in 2020. Now you have the opportunity to do it again. It's time to hand over the torch and let's select a new candidate," the report said, citing an advertisement referred to by ANTARA from Sputnik-OANA, Saturday, July 20.
"A person who can bring new energy, new hope, and make sure Donald Trump never comes near the White House again. The future of our country is in your hands. So please, be the leader we know," the ad continued, quoted in the news.
