2 Indonesian Navy Marines Involved In The 79th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony At IKN

JAKARTA - Commander of the Indonesian Navy's Marine Corps Major General TNI Marines Endi Supardi said his staff was preparing troops as part of the components of the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence ceremony on August 17, 2024 in the capital city of Nusantara, East Kalimantan.

"It's true. For this reason, the Indonesian Navy's Marine Corps was appointed to prepare two platoons, in this case with 21 personnel each plus supporters, platoon commanders, company commanders, and reserves. A total of 53 personnel," Endi told reporters at the Marine Knight Hartono, Cilandak, South Jakarta, Friday.

He said the Marine Corps also prepared four vehicles carrying personnel and troop equipment for purposes at IKN. "Our troops departed on August 5th," he added.

The government has set a ceremony to raise the Red and White flag to be held at the main field of the IKN ceremony on August 17, 2024.

"The journalists have seen how they train for the purposes of the ceremony. Wherever the Indonesian Navy's Marine Corps is displayed or for whatever purpose it is, they must give their best," said Endi.

"Because this ceremony was first held there (IKN), we prepared our best soldiers to be trained and prepared as best as possible," added Dankormar.

At the time of Dankormar's statement, at the Ksatrian Hartono Black Field, there were two composite Indonesian Navy personnel companies to practice the August 17, 2024 ceremony. They consisted of dozens of Indonesian Navy Marine Corps personnel and other units.

They have been training very seriously some time ago and all of them are selected personnel.

The Indonesian Navy soldiers trained already wearing actual ceremonial uniforms, complete with individual weapons and equipment that should be as the ceremony was held. They also train to perform as part of the ceremonial defile at the predetermined positions.

"Earlier, there were those who stated that the Indonesian Navy's Marine Corps, apart from being Indonesian Navy troops, but also as icons. Hopefully, the Navy's Marine Corps wherever the assignment can appear and succeed," he said.
