Riau BUMD Corruption Case Rises Investigation, Bareskrim Finds Suspect
JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri is investigating the alleged corruption case of the Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) PT Sarana Pembangunan Riau (SPR). Recent developments, the status of the case was upgraded to the investigation stage. "On July 12, 2024, the Directorate of Corruption at Bareskrim has raised the status of handling cases suspected of corruption in the financial management of PT. Riau Development Facilities," said Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko in his statement, Friday, July 19. Allegations of corruption that occurred related to the financial management of PT SPR sourced from the operation of the Migas Langgak block for the period 2010 to 2015. The increase in the status of the case to the investigation stage is believed to be a violation of the crime that occurred. The belief is based on 18 witness statements and several clues as well as evidence collected. "It is suspected that there has been a violation of Article 2 paragraph (1) and or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption," he said.

After being upgraded to the investigation stage, said Trunoyudo, investigators will look for additional evidence to strengthen the process of proving the alleged crime. "Investigators of the Criminal Investigation Unit will continue the process through investigative activities in order to find and find evidence to shed light on the case and find the suspect," said Trunoyudo.
