The Ice Dew Phenomenon Appears Due To Extreme Weather In Bromo
The dry season in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS), East Java, caused the temperature to drop drastically to below 5 degrees Celsius.
This condition causes ice dew or upas dew that sticks to the leaves in the area of the Mount Bromo caldera.
This phenomenon is usually seen from July to August, precisely when the temperature in the mountains is very extreme.
In the last few days, ice dew has been seen in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, especially on Mount Bromo's natural tourism located in Probolinggo Regency.
For visitors who want to feel extreme temperatures, such as in Europe and see ice flowers in Bromo, it is recommended to arrive before sunrise. When the sun begins to rise, the dew of the upas will melt.
This natural phenomenon is a special attraction for visitors, apart from enjoying the beauty of the rising sun. After enjoying the beauty of the ice flower, visitors usually continue their tour around the Bromo crater.
Head of Administration of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (BB TNBTS), Septi Eka Wardani stated that this ice dew appears every year, especially during the dry season.
"Due to the cold weather, visitors are advised to wear thick jackets and gloves," said Septi.
He added that the phenomenon of ice dew does not only occur in the caldera of Mount Bromo, but also in other locations in TNBTS, such as Ranupani and Ranu Kumbolo which are located on the slopes of Mount Semeru.
