Cartenz Peace Task Force Arrives In Mulia, Central Papua After Riots Killed Three Residents
JAKARTA - A joint team from the Papuan Police Mobile Brigade and the Cartenz Peace Task Force arrived in Mulia, the capital of Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua, Thursday, July 18.
Head of the Puncak Jaya Resort Police, Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police Kuswara, said the effort was to help restore security in the area.
"It is true that the joint forces have arrived in Mulia and immediately joined the Puncak Jaya Police personnel," he said when contacted, Thursday, July 18, was confiscated by Antara.
The police chief said the team sent from Timika had joined the Puncak Jaya Police personnel who immediately tried to restore security in the area.
"Overall, the security situation is relatively conducive and members remain on standby," he said.
However, economic activity has not returned to normal because some residents are still afraid to do activities.

The three residents who died from gunshot wounds were SW (33), YW (41), and DW (36).
The Head of the Puncak Jaya Police added that as a result of the riots, four people were injured and a resident died, namely Abdulah Jaelani (30) who was injured by sharp objects.
The four people who were injured included Danyon 753/AVT Major Inf Novald Dermawan who were hit by stones on the head.
"Other injured victims Arief (45) were hit by arrows in the back, Safrudin (44) was hit by stones on the upper left lip, and Surati/Bude Nina (53) was injured by sharp objects," said Kuswara.
