Situbondo Rutan Bangun Church For Christian Prisoners
JATIM - Situbondo Class IIB State Detention Center (Rutan), East Java (East Java), built a church for prisoners or Christian WBP as a form of religious tolerance in the local detention house environment.
Head of Class IIB Rutan Situbondo Rudi Kristiawan said detention centers are trying to build churches, places of worship for Christian inmates so that they worship more sincerely like in churches outside the detention center.
"The plan to build this church has actually been going on for a long time, and Alhamdulillah, this year it has been realized. So far, Christian-inmates' spiritual activities have been carried out in one of the rooms in the detention center," he said in his statement in Situbondo, East Java, Thursday, July 18, which was confiscated by Antara.
On Wednesday, July 17, he continued, at the Elohim Church, Situbondo Rutan had carried out spiritual development activities for Christian-inmates by the Maranata Denpasar Foundation in collaboration with the Situbondo Prayer House Foundation.
With the construction of the Elohim Church of the Situbondo Detention Center, Rudi hopes that Christian prisoners can carry out worship more optimally and more crucially.
"This activity has also been reported and received support from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in East Java," said Rudi.
