JAKARTA - The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) officially supports Ahmad Riza Patria-Marshel Widianto as a candidate pair for mayor and deputy mayor of South Tangerang (Tangsel) in the 2024 Pilkada.
The support was given through a letter of recommendation from PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep to Riza-Marshel at the PSI DPP Office, Jakarta, Thursday morning.
"In South Tangerang City, (recommend letter for) Pak Ahmad Riza and Mas Marshel," said Kaesang.
After being officially supported by PSI, Riza ensured that he and Marshel would fight completely in the South Tangerang Pilkada.
He also admitted that he was ready to continue the construction of South Tangerang under the leadership of the elected president and vice president, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
To note, Riza-Marshel was promoted by the Gerindra Party. Both of them have also obtained support from the NasDem Party.
Previously, Monday (8/7), the Daily Chairperson of the Gerindra Party DPP Sufmi Dasco Ahmad admitted that his party was ready to win in the South Tangerang City Pilkada by carrying the pair of former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria and celebrity Marshel Widianto.
"Yes, the name is contestation, we are ready to win, ready to lose," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday.
He said that the Riza-Marshel pair had been confirmed to run in the South Tangerang City Pilkada, and had received recommendations from a number of political parties.
Dasco also stated that the votes held for the couple had met 20 percent of the 2024 Legislative Election votes.
"There are KIM (Indonesian Forward Coalition), there are from outside KIM. Meanwhile, we are still communicating," he said.
It is known that KIM is a coalition for the 2024 General Election for the Elected President and Vice President, namely Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka. A number of KIM parties are Gerindra, the Golkar Party, the Democratic Party, and the National Mandate Party (PAN).
