The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Ensures That The Need For Gas Allocation For Fertilizer Will Be Fulfilled

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) ensures that the gas allocation needs for the fertilizer industry will be met.

"The fertilizer industry is one of six priority industries, which will certainly get natural gas supply," said Bumi Oil and Gas Program Development Director Mirza Mahendra, Wednesday, July 17.

According to Mirza, this is important, considering the multiplier effect created from the operation of the fertilizer industry is able to move the wheels of the economy, and improve welfare in Indonesia.

From Indonesia's gas reserves, added Mirza, more than half are used for local industries.

"Moreover, (Indonesian fertilizers) can be assigned to distribute fertilizer stocks for the community," he said.

This is as stated in Article 5 of the Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 6 of 2010, the Determination of Allocation and Utilization of Natural Gas for domestic needs is carried out with a priority order. The Fertilizer Industry is one of the priorities.
