Wieteke Van Dort, Dutch Singer Born In Surabaya Dies At 81 Years Old

JAKARTA - Wieteke van Dort, also known as Aunt Lien, has just reportedly died. He breathed his last at the age of 81.

Lien died in the Netherlands on July 15 yesterday. Before he died he was diagnosed with chronic liver cancer. The disease spread to vital organs such as the lungs and brain.

Symptoms experienced by Wieteke have been angry for the past year. Various efforts have been made by the medical team until his condition has improved. He is grateful to receive good treatment.

According to De Telegraaf's report, Wieteke died one week after his husband, Theo Moody.

Born in Surabaya, Wieteke is known for his songs that combine Dutch and Indonesian. Some of his works are also wrapped in traditional keroncong arrangements.

One of the most memorable works is Geef Mij Maar Nasi Goreng, which is still attached to the hearts of the people. In addition to singing, he is also known to have been an active television artist, book writer and even comedian.
