Badminton Called The Cause Of Wijaya Karya Loss Rp7.12 Trillion, KCIC: Development For Transportation Progress
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) opened its voice about the statement from PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk which said that the Jakarta Bandung high-speed rail project had made the company lose money.
For your information, WIKA itself is part of a consortium of SOEs from Indonesia, PT Pilar Sinergi BUMN Indonesia (PSBI) which holds shares of PT KCIC along with a consortium of Chinese railway companies, through Beijing Yawan HSR Co. Ltd.
In 2023, WIKA recorded a loss of IDR 7.12 trillion. The company's losses increased sharply from the 2022 position which was recorded at IDR 59.59 billion.
PT KCIC Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa explained that in the construction process, the Quick Train project has considered many things that have been coordinated with all stakeholders involved.
"The construction of the high-speed train is of course aimed at the advancement of transportation in Indonesia so that it can improve connectivity and the economy between Jakarta and Bandung through modern environmentally friendly mass transportation," Eva said in an official statement, Wednesday, July 17.
Currently, continued Eva, job operations continue to increase where the number of trips continues to increase from 14 regular trips per day in October 2023, to 48 regular trips per day since May 2024. Furthermore, in early 2025, it is programmed that the number of train trips can reach up to 62 per day.
"The average volume ofPORTed passengers per day has also increased gradually with the highest passenger record currently reaching 24,000 per day," he said.
Already The Payment Process
Regarding claims or bills of IDR 5 trillion, Eva said that her party had processed the payment of the bill.
He said that in the process it had to be in accordance with good corporate governance.
"Regarding claims of IDR 5 trillion submitted to a number of reports, we can convey that in the process everything related to collection at KCIC must go through administrative procedures so that everything can be properly accounted for, including in terms of finance in accordance with good corporate governance (GCG)," said Eva.

Furthermore, Agung said, the big cause of the company's loss was PT Pilar Sinergi BUMN Indonesia (PSBI).
"We are indeed the biggest because in the completion of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train, sir, which is only from our participation, we have already reached Rp6.1 trillion. Then those that are still dispute or we have not been paid around Rp5.5 trillion, sir. So almost Rp12 trillion," said Agung Budi in a hearing with Commission VI of the DPR, Jakarta, Monday, July 15.
