KPU Make Sure Candidates Don't Leave LHKPN Not Inaugurated

JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian General Election Commission, Idham Holik, emphasized that candidates for legislative members elected as a result of the 2024 General Election who have not submitted the State Administrators Wealth Report (LHKPN) to the Corruption Eradication Commission are threatened not to be inaugurated. "Yes, it is true (threatened will not be inducted)," said Idham when contacted from Jakarta, Wednesday, July 17. The regulation is contained in Article 52 of KPU Regulation (PKPU) Number 6 of 2024 concerning the determination of elected candidates. Previously, the KPU had issued Circular Letter Number 1262/PL.01.9-SDFD/05/2024 regarding LHKPN reporting in the context of preparation for submission of a copy of the elected candidate's decision for the oath of promise. Elected candidates who have reported assets will receive a receipt from the KPK. The receipt of assets must be submitted by selected candidates to the KPU in each ranks no later than 21 days before the inauguration. If the elected candidates do not get it until 21 days before the date of inauguration then they can submit evidence for LHKPN reporting and a statement letter to the provincial or district/city KPU. In the event that the elected candidates do not submit a receipt of wealth reporting, the KPU does not include the names concerned in submitting the elected candidates.

The following is the content of Article 52 of PKPU Number 6 of 2024: (1) Before submitting the elected candidates for members of the DPR, members of the DPD, members of the provincial DPRD, and members of the district/city DPRD as referred to in Article 51, the elected candidates concerned are required to report assets to the agency authorized to examine the assets report of state administrators.(2) The receipt of wealth reporting as referred to in paragraph (1) must be submitted to the KPU, Provincial KPU, and Regency/City KPU no later than 21 (twenty-one) Days before inauguration.(3) In the event that the elected candidates do not convey the receipt of wealth reporting as referred to in paragraph (2), the KPU, Provincial KPU, and the Regency/City KPU do not include the names concerned in submitting the names of the elected candidates.
