Due To Riots, Coordinating Minister Luhut Asked To Withdraw Statements About Subsidized Fuel Restrictions
JAKARTA - Member of Commission VII DPR RI, Mulyanto asked the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan to withdraw his statement in order to avoid confusing reports of subsidized fuel restrictions (BBM).
"This is important to reduce confusion and unrest in the community," Mulyanto told reporters, Wednesday, July 17.
The Deputy Chairman of the FPKS DPR RI said that the statement made by Luhut last week seemed not good.
"If the prize should be positive, not negative news like that. I don't think Pak Luhut has any objection to withdrawing the statement. This is a normal thing," he added.
According to Mulyanto, it is normal for an official's statement to be corrected in order to reduce unrest in the community.
In fact, this recitation can be of positive value. Moreover, the ministers who are directly related to this field also do not support this statement.

Just so you know, the discourse on subsidized fuel restrictions as of August 17, 2024 was first made by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
This, according to Luhut, needs to be done to reduce the waste of the state budget.
In addition, tightening the use of fuel oil subsidies on August 17 can reduce the amount of subsidy distribution to people who are not entitled.
However, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif, Minister of SOEs Erick Tohir and Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani COMPASS denied Luhut's statement.
The government itself is deepening this issue through the revised Presidential Decree No. 191 of 2014 concerning the Provision, Distribution and Retail Selling Price of Oil Fuel, which has yet to be published.
