Mount Rinjani National Park Hall Finds Kijang Munjak's Hunt, The Case Is Being Processed By Law Enforcement

NTB - Patrol Officer of the Gunung Rinjani National Park (TNGR) Province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) found that there was a hunting activity for animals protected by a type of munjak deer (muntiacus munjak) or Indonesian native deer in the area.

"During the patrol carried out by TNGR officers, hunting activities against these animals were found," said Head of TNGR NTB Yarman in Mataram, Tuesday, July 16, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said that currently the status of a munjak deer is protected based on the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number 106/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/12/2018 concerning Types of Plants and Protected Animals.

"Where the distribution covers the islands of Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Bali and finally in Lombok," he said.

When the monitoring team carried out patrols, they also found that the deer munjak were dead on the Tetebatu hiking trail which was then buried by the team.

In addition, the security patrol team and protection of conservation areas with communities in the TNGR forest area encountered hunting for deer.

"Currently the case is in the process of handling law enforcement," he said.

He appealed to all levels of society to keep the Rinjani area sustainable and to be a safe and comfortable place for animals to live.

"Stop hunting animals and stop feeding wildlife," he concluded.
