The Son Of The Governor Of North Maluku Abdul Gani Kasuba Was Questioned By The KPK Regarding Assets In The Name Of The Family
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined M. Thariq Kasuba, who is the son of North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba as a witness on Monday, July 15 yesterday. Investigators are investigating the ownership of assets to investigate allegations of money laundering (TPPU).
"The KPK (has, ed) conducted an examination of witnesses suspected of corruption or money laundering (TPPU) with the suspect AGK," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, July 16.
Tessa said Tariq fulfilled the call and was asked about the assets used by the proceeds of corruption. "Investigated about the ownership of assets in the name of AGK and his family," he said.
A similar statement was also asked by investigators from Helmi Djen who is the President Director of PT Duta Halmahera Mineral and President Director of PT Berkaraya with Halmahera. "The examination was carried out at the Red and White KPK Building," said Tessa.
Actually, the anti-corruption commission scheduled the examination of another witness, Muhammad Matori, who is the Director of PT Sala Dipta Anargya. However, he was not present.
"(Witness, ed) asked for a reschedule," said Tessa without specifying when the reschedule would be carried out.
Previously reported, the KPK named the inactive North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba as a suspect in the alleged crime of money laundering (TPPU). From several pieces of evidence obtained, he is suspected of laundering up to Rp100 billion.

The determination of this suspect was carried out as the development of the alleged bribery of goods and services procurement projects as well as the granting of permits within the North Maluku Provincial Government. He has been detained along with five other suspects since December 20 after being caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT).
The five suspects are the Head of the North Maluku Provincial Government Housing and Settlement Office, Adnan Hasanudin; Head of PUPR PUPR Maluku Provincial Government Daud Ismail; Head of BPPBJ North Maluku Provincial Government Ridwan Arsan; Ramadhan Ibrahim who is Abdul Gani's aide and the private sector, namely Stevi Thomas and Kristian Wuisan.
