One Vespa Unit Edition Christian Dior Will Be Auctioned, Can Reach Rp1 Billion
JAKARTA - One Vespa 946 motorbike enters the auction market. But what is auctioned is not an ordinary Vespa 946 but the most exclusive Vespa model that comes in 2012 and is devoted to the perfection of aesthetics and technology Christian Dior Limited Edition.
This edition of Vespa is the result of the exclusive collaboration of this Italian manufacturer with the French fashion house, Christian Dior.
Of course, this collaboration is unique considering that Vespa designed motorcycles for the community at affordable prices. Meanwhile, Dior is targeting the elite class market. However, who would have thought that this partnership would produce an amazing masterpiece.
Reporting from the RM Sotheby auction house page, Tuesday, July 16, this motorbike was designed for input from Creative Director of Dior Women Collections Maria Grazia Chiuri. This is also a tribute to the legacy of the two brands which were both founded in 1946.
This motorbike is given a simple black-and-white pattern with gold accents that make it more elegant. The removable top case and helmet with the classic Dior Oblice' finishing motif complete the visual package.

Taking the base from the 946 model, this motor has a retro-style coupled futuristic elements with the use of aluminum and steel in its construction. Thus, this model is designed for urban purposes.
This Italian manufacturer provides it with a single air-cooled cylinder engine measuring 13 dk. In addition, the motorbike is presented in a series of special editions and the Christian Dior Limited Edition is one of them.
When it was launched, this special edition model was only available as many as 946 units in the world and made it one of the rarest Vespa ever. One unit has been acquired by the White Collection of Texas and will now be auctioned off at RM Sotheby.
The Vespa 946 Christian Dior Limited Edition will be auctioned off by RM Sotheby on August 15-17 which took place in Monterey, Canada with an estimated sale of 60,000-150,000 US dollars (Rp972.1 million to Rp1.62 billion).
