Man Throws Grenade At Ukrainian Military Mandatory Headquarters

JAKARTA - An unidentified man threw grenades at a military service office in the western Ukrainian city of Busk. The grenade caused an explosion but did not injure anyone.

Police are investigating the incident, which occurred as Ukraine stepped up its efforts to get civilians into the armed forces more than 28 months since the Russian invasion.

Reported by Reuters on Monday, July 15, police in the western Lviv region said the explosion damaged its office facilities and windows. The perpetrator fled after throwing a grenade.

There have been many cases where men fled Ukraine to avoid military service during the war. In recent months there have also been reports of Ukrainian media about violence aimed at military service offices and military service officers.

When asked if they were worried, the Ukrainian military told Reuters maintaining public trust was an important component of (armed-ranking) activity, which without which would be very difficult to achieve victory over the enemy.
