PDIP Requires Cadres To Be Cawagub If Supporting Anies In The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election
PDIP requires its cadres to run as a companion to Anies Baswedan if they later support the former governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada. The PDIP DPP has even discussed formally with PKB and PKS regarding support for Anies Baswedan in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.
"We are now like this, for example, if we say we proposed one name, for example, Mr. Anies. But we are not enough, it's just that, right. Well, for example, for example, Mr. Anies, our candidate for governor certainly hints to fill in with our cadres, right. Because we are number 2 in Jakarta, it is only natural that our cadres should accompany us, right," said PDIP DPP chairman Eriko Sotarduga to reporters, Monday, July 15.
"But also does another party agree that this is not necessarily the case," he continued.
The reason, said Eriko, is that PKS also wants its cadres to become Anies cawagub. "If the PKB is quite flexible, because we have also communicated with PKB. That it is most likely that Jakarta, Central Java, East Java can be together. Even if possible, West Java too," he added.
Eriko admitted that representatives of the PDIP DPP, namely himself, Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Chairman of the DPP Komarudin Watubun, had formally discussed support for Anies with the PKB and PKS ranks. The results of the conversation, he said, would be reported and decided by the Chairperson of the PDIP, Megawati Soekarnoputri.
"We have spoken formally. But officially later, of course, we will discuss it again inside. Because whatever after that, we have to report it to the general chairman. The task of the DPD is to screen us, right? Of course, the General Chairperson will decide later," he explained.

Apart from Anies, Eriko said, there were four other names that strengthened internally with PDIP and discussed with PKS and PKB. Namely the former governor of DKI Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok and Djarot Saiful Hidayat. Former Mayor of Surabaya, Tri Rismaharini and former TNI Commander General (Ret.) Andika Perkasa.
"Yes, if (name) is intense, this is because each of them has advantages and there are also shortcomings. We have to be honest," said Eriko.
