Vice President Inaugurates Kresek As Kampung Santri

TANGERANG - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin inaugurated Kresek District, Tangerang Regency, Banten as a student village.

"By saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I declare that Kresek as the santri village is inaugurated," said the Vice President in his remarks while attending Gebyar Muharam 1446 H Kresek District and the signing of the Kresek Kampung Santri In Kresek District, Tangerang Regency, Banten, Sunday night.

The Vice President appreciated Kresek as a student village which also coincided with the commemoration of the Islamic New Year 1 Muharam 1446 Hijriah. The vice president said that Kresek, who was also his birthplace, had always been a student village.

"Actually, Kresek has been in the santri village for a long time. So, if the statement returns Kresek to become a santri village the same as for people who repent, it means that again, people are people back," said the vice president.

The vice president said that the role of santri in the Banten area was very large, even since the reign of the Dutch East Indies. He also gave an example of the Geger Cilegon incident that occurred in 1888.

"Banten used to be students who fought first Geger Cilegon santri," said the Vice President.

Therefore, according to the Vice President, the role of santri is very important. This is also related to the task of pesantren, namely preparing people who understand religion and also people who can prosper the world.

"So, if the santri comes home later so that da'wah, so if the pesantren doesn't have enough da'wah, it's less. Many students are lacking because they don't do da'wah, trade only, become trade students, even though from God of Trade it is permissible but the da'wah of the road becomes ustadz, teaches in madrasas, teaches in the taklim assembly," he said.

The Vice President also emphasized that the current pesantren must also be a place for economic development.

"Extinguishing the earth with what? With the economy, trade, agriculture, there must be. The key is science and technology, so now Islamic boarding schools are opening schools to open vocational education training," said the Vice President.
